Product Description

Double-Sided Twin-Extruder Film Coating Machine for FIBC Fabric Lamination

Choosing Between Single- and Double-Sided Coating

The coating structure of FIBC fabric depends on the packaged material, liner configuration, transportation environment and moisture or powder-control requirements. Some FIBC fabrics require coating on one side, while others require surface coverage on both sides.

This Double-Sided Twin-Extruder Film Coating Machine has two 110 mm extrusion units and two lamination sections. It can apply PE or PP coating to one or both sides of FIBC and jumbo bag woven fabric.

The twin-extruder structure provides separate extrusion and temperature-control conditions for the two coating stages. It does not mean that every FIBC fabric requires double-sided coating.

Twin-Extruder Configuration

System Main configuration Function for FIBC fabric
First extruder 110 mm screw and 75 kW motor Applies resin to the first side
First lamination unit Chill, silicone and pressing rollers Presses and cools the first coating
Second extruder Independent 110 mm screw and temperature control Supplies resin for the second side
Second lamination unit Independent cooling and pressing system Completes the second coating
Double-station unwinder Ø90 mm air-expanding shafts and tension control Supplies FIBC fabric
Double-station rewinder Friction rewinding and automatic tension control Collects the coated rolls

The two extruders can be set according to the order requirements. Different resin or thickness settings on each side should be verified through trial production.

Selecting the Coating Arrangement

FIBC fabric requirement Possible coating arrangement Information to confirm
Coverage required on one surface Single-sided coating Coated-side orientation
Surface coverage required on both sides Double-sided coating Thickness and continuity on each side
Separate inner liner included Select according to packaging needs Functions of the coating and liner
Downstream printing required Confirm the printing surface Ink compatibility
Fine powder packaging Coating alone is not sufficient Seams and liner construction
Outdoor transportation Combined evaluation required UV, rain and covering conditions

Double-sided coating does not automatically create a completely waterproof or leak-proof FIBC. Finished performance also depends on coating continuity, seams, spouts and liner construction.

Double-Sided FIBC Fabric Process

The FIBC substrate enters through the double-station unwinder and passes through double-sided brush cleaning and preheating.

The first extrusion and lamination unit applies coating to one side. The fabric then enters the second extrusion and lamination section for coating on the other side.

Each lamination stage uses a Ø600 mm double-jacket water-cooled mirror roller. After coating, the web passes through photoelectric edge tracking, trimming, waste removal and tension-controlled rewinding.

Application

The machine is used for single- or double-sided extrusion lamination of FIBC, jumbo bag and bulk bag woven fabric. The coated material can be converted into outer fabric for bulk packaging of fertilizer, minerals, metallurgical materials, cement and other industrial products. Printing, cutting and sewing follow the coating process. Airtightness, moisture resistance, electrostatic properties, chemical compatibility and rated load must be verified through the coating, woven fabric, liner, lifting construction and finished-FIBC testing.

Information Required for FIBC Coating Setup

Buyers should provide:

  • FIBC fabric material, width and weight;
  • Single- or double-sided coating requirement;
  • Target coating thickness on each side;
  • Required PE or PP resin;
  • Coated-side orientation in the finished bag;
  • Inner-liner configuration;
  • Downstream printing and sewing method;
  • Packaged material and storage conditions;
  • Maximum input and finished roll diameter;
  • Finished-FIBC testing requirements.

FAQ

Can the twin-extruder line perform only single-sided coating?

The relevant extrusion and lamination section can be used according to the production setup. The web path should be confirmed during commissioning.

Can each side have a different coating thickness?

The twin-extruder configuration allows separate parameter settings. The selected thickness combination should be verified through trial production.

Can double-sided coating replace an FIBC inner liner?

Not necessarily. Coating and liners perform different functions. The need for a liner depends on particle size, moisture, cleanliness and closure requirements.

Does the machine produce complete FIBCs?

No. It coats and rewinds FIBC fabric. Printing, cutting, sewing, lifting-loop installation and finished-product testing require downstream processes.
