Product Description

Coated Food Grade Baffle Bulk Bags with Filling and Discharge Spouts for Starch Powder

1. Product Description

These coated food grade baffle bulk bags are designed for corn starch, tapioca starch, potato starch and other compatible dry starch powders. A top filling spout and a bottom discharge spout support connection to powder-filling equipment, warehouse handling systems and downstream processing lines.

The body, top and bottom panels use 200 g/m² white inner-coated fabric. Four internal baffles help limit lateral expansion after filling and maintain a more controlled bag profile for palletized storage and container transportation.

2. Specific Applications for Starch Powder

These food grade baffle bulk bags can be used by starch manufacturers and food-processing facilities for corn starch, tapioca starch, potato starch, wheat starch and compatible modified starch powders. They can also support bulk transfer from the production line to warehouses, batching areas or downstream food manufacturers. Because different starches have different particle sizes, moisture sensitivity, flow characteristics and bulk densities, sift-resistant seams, a separate PE liner or customized filling and discharge spouts may be required.

3. Structure for Fine Starch Powder

Starch can contain fine particles that enter the woven fabric structure or escape through needle holes and sewn connections. The body, top and bottom panels use 200 g/m² inner-coated fabric, while the filling and discharge spouts use 95 g/m² inner-coated material. This construction helps reduce direct powder penetration into the woven fabric.

The bag contains four 57 × 100 cm internal baffles. Each baffle has four evenly distributed 10 × 30 cm oval openings. The baffles help control the filled profile, while the openings allow starch powder to move between the internal sections and reduce uneven filling.

Inner-coated fabric is not the same as a separate PE liner. The bag should not be described as completely moisture-proof, leakproof or airtight without supporting test data.

5. Selection Guide for Starch Powder FIBCs

Selection factor Information required Effect on bag configuration
Starch type Corn, tapioca, potato, wheat or modified starch Confirms compatibility with the fabric, coating and liner
Particle size Average particle size and fine-powder content Fine powder may require sift-resistant seams or a separate liner
Bulk density Actual value in kg/m³ Used to match bag volume with the intended filling weight
Planned filling weight Required net weight per bag Used to select a verified bag and lifting configuration
Hygroscopicity Sensitivity to atmospheric moisture Hygroscopic starch may require a high-barrier liner
Flow characteristics Free-flowing, bridging or caking Affects discharge-spout size and unloading assistance
Filling equipment Connection diameter, filling speed and attachment method Determines filling-spout dimensions and closure
Discharge equipment Outlet connection and required discharge rate Determines discharge-spout size and closing method
Powder-leakage requirement Acceptable dust or powder escape level Affects coating, seam and liner configuration
Storage conditions Storage period, temperature and humidity Affects moisture-protection and liner selection
Lifting method Forklift dimensions, lifting height and operation Must match the four-loop configuration
Food-contact requirements Destination-market regulations and customer standards Determines the required material and compliance documents

6. Filling, Discharge, Cleanliness and Customization

The bag has a Ø50 × 60 cm top filling spout and a Ø45 × 45 cm bottom discharge spout. This configuration supports connection to compatible filling and unloading equipment. For starch that tends to bridge or cake, moisture content, outlet dimensions and auxiliary discharge equipment should also be evaluated.

The production process requires air cleaning and light-table inspection to control loose threads, insects, dirt and other visible foreign matter. Depending on particle size, moisture sensitivity and packaging conditions, filling-spout dimensions, discharge design, PE liner, sift-resistant seams, document pouch and printing can be further evaluated as customization options.

If FDA, EU 10/2011 or BRCGS compliance is required, the relevant reports or certificates must be verified separately. A general food-grade production requirement does not independently demonstrate compliance with these standards.
