Product Description

1% UV-Added Graphite Powder FIBC Bags for Limited Outdoor Handling

Graphite powder FIBCs do not always remain indoors throughout the complete handling process. After filling, a bag may cross an outdoor factory area, wait at a loading dock or move between separate production buildings.

From the buyer’s perspective, the relevant question is not simply whether the bag “can be used outdoors.” The buyer should determine how long the bag will be exposed to sunlight, whether rain is possible, how long it may wait for loading and whether the planned operation involves long-term outdoor storage.

These 1% UV-Added Graphite Powder FIBC Bags are configured for operations where limited sunlight exposure may occur during external factory handling. However, the available production specification provides no UV test standard, retained-strength result or verified exposure duration. A specific outdoor service life cannot therefore be promised.

When a Buyer May Consider the 1% UV Configuration

Operating condition Relevance of the 1% UV configuration Additional action required
Short transfer from filling area to loading point Considers incidental sunlight exposure Complete loading without unnecessary delay
Temporary waiting at a warehouse dock Base fabric contains UV additive Keep bags under a roof or in shade
Movement between separate production buildings Supports limited external handling Control the time spent outdoors
Transfer from warehouse to container-loading area Relevant to short factory-yard movement Keep spouts closed and prevent rain exposure
Temporary outdoor loading or unloading Provides a defined UV configuration Use covers during transportation
Long-term open-air storage Not supported by available evidence Require UV testing and a dedicated storage plan

The product is more appropriate for operations based mainly on indoor storage with limited outdoor transfer than for continuous open-air storage.

How a Buyer Should Interpret 1% UV

The 1% UV value means that the base fabric contains a specified proportion of UV additive. It is a measurable material-configuration parameter, but it cannot be directly converted into a fixed number of outdoor days or months.

Actual exposure performance can be affected by:

  • Solar-radiation intensity in the destination country;
  • Seasonal operating conditions;
  • Daily direct-sunlight duration;
  • Use of a roof or shaded loading area;
  • Storage and transportation temperature;
  • Repeated movement between indoor and outdoor areas;
  • Fabric color, formulation and production process;
  • Continuous stress on the filled bag body.

The product may therefore be described as having a 1% UV additive and being intended for limited outdoor handling. It should not be advertised with unsupported claims such as “12-month outdoor use,” “long-term weather resistance” or “permanent UV protection.”

UV Protection Is Not Rain Protection

A UV additive relates to material exposure under sunlight. It does not establish protection against rain or atmospheric moisture.

The bag uses a 180 g/m² uncoated body. Although an independent inner liner is included, no liner material, water-vapor transmission value or completed-bag waterproof test is provided.

During outdoor transfer, the buyer should still:

  • Use a covered loading area or transportation cover;
  • Keep the filling and discharge spouts closed;
  • Prevent the bag body from standing in water;
  • Inspect the liner for handling damage;
  • Treat UV protection and rain protection as separate requirements;
  • Avoid outdoor stacking without supporting test data.

If the operating conditions involve strong sunlight, rain and extended storage, the coating, liner material, closure system and required UV test should be specified separately.

Applications for Limited Outdoor Handling

These 1% UV-added Graphite Powder FIBC Bags are mainly used to transfer filled graphite powder from indoor production areas to external loading points, warehouse docks, container-loading areas or other factory buildings. They can also support short-distance movement from an outdoor unloading area to an indoor warehouse or discharge station at the customer’s facility. This configuration is intended for packaging processes based primarily on indoor storage with limited outdoor handling. Long-term open-air storage, continuous strong sunlight or possible rain exposure requires separate confirmation of UV testing, outer-fabric coating, liner material and transportation-cover requirements.

Buyer Decision Table

Operating requirement Suitability of current configuration Reason
Indoor storage with occasional external transfer Can be considered Matches limited outdoor handling
Short waiting under a covered loading dock Can be considered Exposure time must be controlled
Truck or container loading Can be considered Transportation cover is still required
Daily extended outdoor exposure Cannot be confirmed No verified exposure duration
Long-term outdoor storage Not directly recommended Dedicated weathering test required
Exposure to rain Not covered by the UV configuration Separate waterproof packaging is required
High electrostatic-risk filling Cannot be confirmed No electrostatic classification is provided
Multi-level stacking Cannot be confirmed No stacking test is provided
